ABOUT ME

With a background in journalism and film study, I have had a lifelong interest in communications. I interned on the Peoria (Ill.) Journal Star newspaper and its two magazines, Rotor & Wing and Shooting Times; freelanced articles for a variety of publications, including On Location, The Capital Times newspaper of Madison, Wisconsin, The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists, Credit Union Magazine, and Skeptical Inquirer; associate editor of Illinois Issues magazine; deputy director for the Communications Department of the Illinois Secretary of State's office; public information assistant at the Illinois Department of Transportation; and Chief Operating Officer of the Center for Inquiry - Los Angeles. Worked part-time as Executive Assistant to the the Executive Director, as well as bookkeeper,for the Los Angeles Press Club. Continue to assist LA Press Club with proofreading its twice-yearly awards program books and judging entries for press clubs across the country.

 

Also co-founder and co-producer of Opening Minds Productions, producing theater plays about history, including Steve Allen's Meeting of Minds, and Ghost in the House with Tony Todd as boxer Jack Johnson. [Note: OMP has been inactive and no longer exists.]

 

Plus, I had a featured extra role in Legally Blonde 2!
